The first wave of renovations are complete, and the building is already becoming more connected, united, and frankly, convenient. We have posted directions and maps for the building here, but briefly, these are a few key things you should be aware of:
* CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE SAME LOCATION, in the east corridor of the ground and first floors.
* Most of the department offices themselves have shifted. (Kinesiology and Public and Community Health can be found in the same location as before renovations, on the second floor.) The most drastic move was for the Family Science Department, who jumped all the way across campus from Marie Mount Hall. We're all under the same roof now! Find a full description and maps here to help you find your way next week.
* The student lounge has also moved to the second floor - and it's grown! Your lounge is now 400 square feet larger than before renovations!
* Offices for the dean and administration are in a new spot as well, on the second floor, right next to the student lounge.
Aside from this post and the Web page, we are also setting up signs and maps around the building to try to minimize the confusion next week. We are encouraging you to check out our brand new entrance to the building, on the second floor. From that point, we'll have several signs to direct you to classrooms and each department.
Another key location will be what we call the spine, consisting of three staircases and two bridges, accessible from the ground floor, first floor, and second floor. From this location, you will quickly and easily be able to navigate your way to any location in the building.
The photo above is a view of the spine, from the ground floor, with your back to the east side of the building (leaving the classrooms). The Center for Healthy Families is at the bottom of the steps on the right. Family Science (FMSC) is up the first flight of stairs and to the right. Also on the first floor are the graduate assistant offices, and quick route to the lecture hall 1312, Student Service Center and the first-floor classrooms. You'll want to go this way to eventually reach the other departments, the student lounge, the health literacy center and offices for the dean and administration.

And if you're still having problems finding your way next week, please don't hesitate to ask someone for help. We're excited for you all to be here, and to enjoy the changes!
The renovations look good now, don't they? Take a look back at what these areas looked like just a few months ago, in a renovation video tour!
The renovations truly look wonderful. I can't wait to see them in full use.
