That idle talk evolved into what is The Kinesiology Chili Cook-off, and the ninth annual is to go down tomorrow.
"It is a great community activity," Clark said about the event, "And grad students are always hungry for good food."
Winning last year's Best in Show was doctoral student Melissa Pangelinan, for a hearty beans and beef chili with a spicy kick and sweetened with butternut squash. Missing from the competition was Business Manager Regina Clary, who had won the year before with a white chicken chili. She stepped out to enter the dessert competition instead.
It's been confirmed that both recent champions are returning to the chili game tomorrow, and with new recipes. Reginia is trying out a vegetarian chili, and Melissa leaning toward a beanless chili with either turkey or beef.
With two recent winners going head-to-head, who knows what could happen.
BUT THERE'S A NEW KIDS IN TOWN. That's right. The Healthy Turtle has decided to enter its own recipe. One thing is for sure - If the chili won't make ya sweat, the competition sure will.
