"Examining the Effect of Behavioral Activation on Substance Abuse Treatment Retention"

Several of our students with the SHARP lab were selected for the Outstanding Student Research Poster award by the American Academy of Health Behavior last month.

Their presentation at AAHB's 10th Scientific Meeting examined the effectiveness of behavioral activation through LET'S ACT to treat depression among substance abusers. Their findings provide initial evidence that LET'S ACT is effective. Because lower depression levels decrease the dropout rate for substance abuse treatment, their findings have significant clinical implications.

View their poster by clicking the image above. Their abstract for this research can be found here.

Congratulations Jessica Magidson, Jordana Hemberg, Sylvette La Touche Howard and Stephanie Gorka and their mentor Dr. Stacey B. Daughters for the accomplishment!
