
The New York Times published an article last week about the effects that running can have on the anti-aging process, and the reporter contacted our own Dr. Stephen Roth to shed light on the implications of shortened telomere length. As it turns out, the length of telomeres, a feature of DNA, indicates the aging rate of a cell. Research shows that running can decrease the rate at which the telomere length shortens as a person ages.
