Dr. Beck of the Public and Community Health Department has conducted a seven-year study of Maryland Transportation Trends, the results of which were reflected upon in a piece published today by the Baltimore Sun.
The responses gathered by 850 telephone surveys of Maryland license holders each year since 2003 indicate some progress on the roads concerning drunk driving and seat belt usage.
Drivers in the state have yet to make as much progress in the category of aggressive driving and speeding. Also becoming a greater concern among license holders is cell phone usage while on the road. Inconsistent with this concern, however, is the rising percentage of drivers who admit to using a cell phone themselves while behind the wheel.
