On Saturday, May 2, 2009 the Seat Pleasant-University of Maryland Health Partnership, through the efforts of undergraduate community and public health students, will be bringing you the 10th Annual Seat Pleasant Health Fair as part of Seat Pleasant Day.

The health fair will take place at Goodwin Park, 611 68th Place, Seat Pleasant, MD from noon – 4:00 p.m. The main goal and focus of the health fair will be to promote healthy living and educate the attendees on important health screenings, as well as raise awareness about common diseases. Topics we are covering at this year’s health fair will be free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and information from Planned Parenthood and Kool Smiles, among other health organizations.

This event is not about the organizations and what they offer, but it is about making the residents more aware of healthy living, through a positive community experience. Participants will have the chance to win great door prizes and there will also be small giveaways. Residents will also be asked to fill out a brief survey before they leave so we can provide an even more enjoyable health fair next year.

For more information and directions to the upcoming event please go to www.sphealth.webhop.org. We look forward to seeing you on May 2nd!
