Graduate Student Lu Chen at Minority Cancer Conference

Last Saturday, Lu Chen, a graduate student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, attended a miniority cancer conference entitled "Cancer: It Does Not Discriminate."

The event, hosted by
Holy Cross Hospital and MOTA's Minority Communities Empowerment Project (MCEP), addressed the "effects of cancer in ethnically and racially diverse communities "and featured "community health presentations and exhibits about the importance of early detection."

For her part, Chen staffed a table and talked with attendees about the recent tobacco disparities report created by several faculty members within the EPIB department. Here's a photo:

Great job, Lu, and thanks to Dr. Olivia Carter-Pokras for information about the event.
