20 Questions for Gloria Friedgen

Gloria Friedgen, the Coordinator of Alumni & Outreach for the SPH, has another--albeit less formal--title: Mrs. Fridge.

Gloria is the wife of our head football coach Ralph Friedgen and the organizer of the regular "Breakfast with Mrs. Fridge" gathering. She also serves the school as a member of our Board of Visitors.

A few days ago, Gloria sent me an email alerting me to a "20 Question" feature that she had done for Maryland Gridiron Network, the booster organization for the football team. I have to say, it provides quite a few insights into our First Lady of Maryland Football, including how Ralph proposed, her favorite restaurants and movies and her best memories of Maryland football. Here's a sample (click here for the whole feature):

What's the best part about being the First Lady of Maryland football?

I think that the opportunity of being an integral part of the program - partnering with Ralph by supporting his time commitment, developing relationships with the players, creating a family atmosphere with the tailgates and other events, and being able to tell people about how wonderful the University of Maryland is athletically, academically, and in the arts because they might actually listen to what I have to say.
