Breaking News: Fire Alarm!

The faculty, staff and students in the SPH Building received a belated holiday present this morning; the fire alarm going off. PG Firefighters kept us outside for about 30 minutes while they checked on the alarm, and at 10:39 am, we were waved back inside. Just in time, it seems, as rain was just starting to fall as we sauntered back in.

UPDATE (11:40 a.m.): According to Adam Shervanian, the Assistant Director of Facilities and Services at the SPH, the cause of the fire alarm going off is uncertain at this time. What we do know is that the building is currently receiving a new fire alarm system, and the people updating that system may have triggered it. Adam and others are currently trying to pinpoint the problem, and he is hopeful that this doesn't happen again.
